CRIME IN HOUSTON
Neighborhood drug
dealers, killing dedicated Police Officer’s, Store Clerks, and
other innocent citizens show the need for more effective Law
enforcement strategies.
As your Representative, I will engage our youth through more
attractive after-school programs. I will organize solution oriented meetings with Civic Associations
as well as with Businesses, Community Centers and Religious
Institutions. In this way, citizens will able to dialogue on their
concerns and air their suggestions for betterment of all inner
and outer City neighborhood environments.

COMBATING TERRORISM
Periodically I would like to hold town hall meetings at which the
law enforcement officers will educate and explain to the citizens
how to deal with terrorists and organize neighborhood watch programs
to mitigate them.

Statement
To
provide the judicial system and the public with information and
support in the most technologically advanced methods of
accurate record keeping available
at a reasonable cost by:
- Fulfilling
our statutory duties as record custodian and fee officer to the
best of our abilities;
- Fostering
an environment for our employees that encourages the development
of new ideas and a willingness to improve productivity;
- Strive
to provide impartial service to the public;
- Endeavor
to be a leader and example for other counties and state
agencies.
PROVIDING 100%
SERVICE TO CITIZENS:
In order to make
the District Clerk's Office more fully responsive to the needs of
the district courts and to citizens, I will enhance our
services by strictly following programs of:
A. Providing
state-of-the-art computers to each employee and backing that up with
continuing computer education;
B. Further
pursuing the development and implementation of our Local Registry
Database;
C. Taking our
digital imaging processes a step up by increasing public access to
stored images;
D. Optimizing
records management by investigating in technologies such as bar
codes and laser scanning, and making public records available via
electronic transmission;
E.
Utilizing Internet technology to continue spearheading the State of
Texas´ efforts in making electronic filing of district court
documents a reality; and,
Automating systems and procedures to the fullest extent possible
without scarify.
COMPLY WITH THE LAW:
I will work to make sure that
Harris County District Clerk employees perform their duties in
compliance with the law.
100% SERVICE TO DISTRICT COURTS
I will work hard to make the office of District Clerk a 100
percent service organization to the district courts. Concerned
citizens, John Shike a hard working Democrats says. "That's the intent
of what the District Clerk Office should be, we should maintain
care, custody and control of the records of the district court and
provide service to the courts. You won't find John Shike running a
judge's campaign or politicking for another candidate for another
race or raising money for friends campaigns."
